Rather than telling the person why and how they should change their behaviour, counsellors try to help people to choose to change their own behaviour, increasing their confidence that they can succeed. ![]() It aims to help people explore the reasons that they may feel unsure about quitting and find ways to make them feel more willing and able to stop smoking.
